The original "Talk" started singing together in December of 1972. Keith Fransen Tenor, Jim Hall Baritone, Bob Brutsman Bass, and Lead Judd Orff made up the 1st foursome.

After 12 years of shows and contests they hung up their pitch-pipe, but not until they had won the Land O' Lakes District Quartet Championship in 1976 and represented the Land O' Lakes District at the International Quartet Competition in 1976, 77, 1980, 81, 82 & 84.

In 2006 they were asked to sing on the Land O' Lakes Assiciation of District Champions Fall show. Bob Brutsman was unable to sing due to a medical situation and the quartet had to pass on the opportunity. In 2007 Bob moved to Florida and the remaining originals looked to reform the quartet. Enter Jim Hall's son Matt to sing Bass and the "Talk" was back in business.
